Beyonce Runs the World

Beyonce, also known as Beyonce Knowles is one of the most well known artist, fashion designer and actress of our times.  She was born and raised in the city of Houston in Texas and gained fame in the 1990's.  During this period Beyonce was one of the lead singers of the prominent pop group Destiny's Child.  In the year of 2000, Beyonce went solo with her music career.

While Beyonce became famous as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, the release of her first album entitled, "Dangerously in Love" in the year 2003 took her to heights unsurpassed by several musicians in music history. Some of the most popular hits of this album include Baby Boy and Crazy in Love. The album earned her the all time record of winning five Grammies at a stretch. Her second Album, B’Day, which was released in 2006, brought even more success than the first album did. The most pulsating track of this album was ‘Beautiful Liar’ which featured at the top of the Billboard Countdown in 2006. To date Beyonce Knowles has received as many as sixteen Grammy awards both as a solo artist as well as one of the members of the pop group Destiny's Child.

Beyonce has also reached fame as an actress. Her passion for acting occurred first when she signed up for a musical film ‘Carmen’ in 2001. Afterward she appeared in some major Hollywood blockbusters such as Cadillac Records and Dreamgirls. Her role in the film Dreamgirls resulted in her being nominated for two golden globe awards.

In 2004, Beyonce Knowles ventured into the fashion world. She opened a fashion line known as House of Dereon with her mother. She has endorsed well-known fashion brands like Armani, Loreal, Tommy Hilfiger and Pepsi. In the year 2010, Beyonce featured in the list of most powerful celebrities in the whole world compiled by Forbes. She ranked second on this list. She ranked first in the list of most influential musicians in the entire world, also compiled by Forbes in the year 2010.

Despite the Beyonce nose job rumors and breast augmentation, Beyonce is indeed one of the most sensational celebrities in today's world. Her landmark success is unparalleled by any other female music icon of this era. Long may she reign supreme.
